Keep Christ at home in your heart.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth does speak.  We need then to diligently guard our heart.  This is the inner person.  This is what constitutes our intellect, emotion and will.

We guard our heart by making sure Christ is at home there.  Our heart is not a time share or a co-op.  It needs to be the dwelling place of Christ and Christ alone.  Christ needs to be our King, our Savior, the complete and total authority over our life.

If He is not the only authority in our life we will inevitably end up with a heart that cannot produce the right kind of speech (words, sentiment and emotion) that brings honor and glory to our Father in Heaven.

If our heart is pure righteous and holy, our words will reflect that.  If our heart lacks purity, righteousness and holiness our words will definitely reflect that also.

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)
